Obituary

Conroy, Michael P, 83. Departed this world on September 15, 2025, in Burlington, VT, surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 10, 1942 in Albany, NY, Mike lived a life rich with adventure, warmth, and an undeniable knack for bringing people together.

Growing up in Albany, Mike spent his summers in West Chazy, NY where he honed his skills in both farm chores and mischief alongside his cousins, who were like siblings to him. His early days included driving tractor on his grandfather's farm, even if his feet barely reached the pedals! So, he could help in the fields.

He was a Veteran of the Air Force from 1962 to 1966, Mike traded his military uniform for a tool belt, becoming an accomplished electrician at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT. His career journey led him to Sears, in Pittsfield MA and then Plattsburgh, NY where he not only repaired TVs but also managed the repair division. Later, he took on the role of Maintenance Department Manager at Best Western, ensuring everyone could enjoy a comfortable stay. His was always a face you could count on seeing every Election Day as he manned the polls.

Mike was the epitome of a family man, always there with a helping hand or a warm cup of coffee. He was known for his love of reading, his green thumb in the yard, and a surprising stint in a Barbershop Quartet that everyone enjoyed. He cherished every moment with his family, especially his daughters Nancy and Karen, and his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. Everyone agrees he gave the best hugs.

Mike is survived by spouse, Gloria Conroy and her children Natalie, Darryll, and Scott West and his wife Elaine; his sister, Maureen Conroy Fink and her husband, Bruce; daughters Nancy Conroy Mack and Karen Conroy Tinajero and her husband, Juan; grandsons Isaac and Jakob Tinajero; great grandson Joseph Michael Mack II.; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins who will miss his joyful spirit. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Mack; father, Charles F. Conroy; mother, Mary E. Conroy; and his sister, Gail Conroy Jones and her husband, Ken and their daughter Kim. As well as both his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.

In accordance with Mike's wishes, his ashes were spread over the family farm, a place that held his heart. As we remember Mike, let us celebrate the laughter, love, and joy he brought to our lives. His legacy will forever echo into the hearts of all who knew him, reminding us to live life to the fullest, never meeting a stranger, and always ready to lend a hand.
