Obituary

Michael "Bo" Thomson, 76, of Plattsburgh, New York, passed away on April 28, 2025. He was born in Ogdensburg, NY, on October 2, 1948, the son of Norris and Rita (Darmody) Thomson.

Bo attended SUNY Plattsburgh, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree, and later earned a Master's Degree in Education from SUNY Potsdam.

He had a rewarding career as a history teacher at Copenhagen Central School, where he shared his passion for history, civics, and lifelong learning with his students for over twenty years. Affectionately known at school as "Mr. T," he was respected for his strong values, extensive knowledge, and deep compassion for his students.

Outside of his professional life, Bo was an avid sports fan, fiercely devoted to his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a voracious reader and movie buff, with an impressive breadth of knowledge in these and many other areas of interest.

Bo is survived by his three sisters and their husbands: Mary and Thomas Heins, Jo Ann and Michael Stumpf, and Theresa and Richard Lang.

He was deeply loved by his family, including his sisters, nieces, nephews, and their children, as well as by a large circle of lifelong, faithful friends. All will miss his sharp wit, animated stories, and strong opinions.

Calling hours will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., followed by the continuation of calling hours.
