PLATTSBURGH - Miguel A. Perales, 81, of Abenaki Rd., Plattsburgh, passed away September 4, 2018 at UVM Center, Burlington, VT.

He was born in Laredo, Texas on October 22, 1936 the son of Miguel and Emma (Gonzales) Perales.

Miguel was an Air Force Veteran, serving from 1958 to 1978. He was awarded the Air Force Meritorius Service Medal in disarming the bomb in Torrejon AFB, Spain. He also retired from the NYS Division for Youth and Walmart.

He married Paula Farber in Plattsburgh on June 24, 1996. He was a member of the VFW post #125 and the Knights of Columbus. Miguel enjoyed playing guitar and singing, spending time with his grandchildren, reading, watching movies, the Dallas Cowboys, photography, learning multiple languages, and sharing his knowledge.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Perales; sons, Phillip and Anette Perales, Luis Perales and partner, Tammy Hogan, James Perales and partner, Mallory Godreau, Richard Perales; daughters, Lisa Perales Lee, Emma Miner-Squires and her husband, Andrei, Michele Perales; a brother Uvaldo Perales of Austin, TX; sisters Irma Mireles and Emma (Elva) Gonzalez, both from Laredo, TX; many grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Miguel was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Alonzo Perales.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Military Interment will take place on Thursday at 11:30 am in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Autism Awareness or American Cancer Society.
