BEEKMANTOWN— Mildred "Millie" Percey, 96, of Route 9, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the home of her daughter's, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 01, 1924, in Mooers Forks, the daughter of John and Agnes (Miller) LaValley. After the death of her first husband Joseph Gagnier who passed away August 20, 1947, she then married Stephen Percey on May 18, 1974.
Millie worked at Beekmantown Central School and Cumberland Head School for 22 years as a cook, retiring in 1982. She then took her cooking skills and ran Millie's Snack Bar at the Cumberland Head Ferry Dock retiring in 1985.
Millie was a member of the St. Joseph Church and the Altar Rosary Society in West Chazy.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Gagnier and his wife Sandra of West Chazy; daughter, Christina Giroux and her husband Rocklyn of Plattsburgh; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a niece, whom she raised as a daughter, Carol Guay; and several other nieces and nephews.
Millie was predeceased by her parents, first husband Joseph Gagnier, second husband, Stephen Percey; three brothers, Edward LaValley, Zephere LaValley, Amos LaValley; 7 sisters, Nettie Santori, Mary Goodman, Ida Hebert, Lillian Blades, Helen Nephew, Leona Mooso, Irene Nephew.
Special thank you to the caring nurses and staff at Hospice of the North Country and her caregivers, Missy, Pat, Diane, Dawn, Donna, Jen and many others that helped care for Millie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or Charity of Choice in memory of Millie.
Face coverings and social distancing will be required at services.
