CHAZY LAKE-Nancy Petrashune, 92, of Rt. 374, Chazy Lake, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Meadowbrook Healthcare with her family by her side.

She was born in AuSable Forks on May 14, 1931 the daughter of Graydon and Alzina (Estes) Cowles.

Nancy married Michael Petrashune in 1955 at St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook. Mike passed away April 7, 2008.

Nancy found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was the sound of crashing pins at the bowling alley, the tranquility of swimming in Silver Lake, the beauty of winter while snowmobiling, or the camaraderie of her fellow Catholic Daughters. As an active member of the community and the dedicated nurse, she touched the lives of many with her caring nature and unwavering sense of humor, bringing light to those around her even in the darkest of times.

Her laughter was infectious, echoing through the lanes and across the water filling the hearts of those around her with warmth and joy. Her friendships were a testament to the depth of her spirit, and she leaves behind a circle of friends who will cherish her quick wit and unwavering support.

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit and the memories she created will endure in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family and friends take solace in the knowledge that she is now at peace, surrounded by the love and light she so generously shared during her time on earth. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her legacy of laughter and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

We may now let our ThunderCloud, Mom and Nanu hover over us till the end of time.

She was employed as an RN for CVPH Medical Center for many years.

Survivors include a son, and daughter-in-law, David (Angie) Petrashune; daughters, and sons-in-law, Susan (Alan) Brown, Ann (John) Jenner; four grandchildren, Bradley, Michael (Lauren) Petrashune, Jesse (Kris) Cauchon, Sydney Brown (David LeClair); great-grandchildren Shawn, Calder and Isla Petrashune.

Calling hours will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday the 6th at 12:00 pm at St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain.

Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in AuSable Forks.

Donations may be made to the Our Lady of Snow, Catholic Daughters, St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain.
