Obituary

Nancy Repas, 97, of Cornelia Street, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 13, 2022 at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Kerasitsa, Greece on July 17, 1924, the daughter of Fotis Malliris and Vasiliki Lambrakis.

Nancy graduated from college in Greece and taught elementary school in the Arkadia/Sparta Region for ten years. She then moved to Montreal where she taught in the Greek community school for two years. In 1958, Nancy married Chris Repas in a ceremony in Montreal before moving to live in Plattsburgh. Nancy was for many years an arts and crafts teacher at the Recreation Department for the City of Plattsburgh through until her retirement.

Nancy took great pride in her cooking, baking and craft abilities. She loved to share her talents and tips with numerous individuals throughout the community and the county. She was always greeted with huge smiles and enthusiasm when she would drop by the likes of the Home Bureau or the Firehall with a tray of her Greek pastries. In her latter years, she very much liked shopping, often coming across many of her former students and sharing fond memories ignited by those conversations.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Chris in 2001 and siblings, Christos Malliris, Helene Kastanis, Toula Konstantopoulos and Georgia Malliris.

She is survived by her niece Valia Malliris, husband Yanni and great nephews Dimitris and Christos and nephew Fotis Malliris in Greece, nephews, Ari Kastanis, his former spouse Dale and great nieces Andrea and Gina and great great niece Olivia of Vancouver and great nephew Eric of San Antonio, TX. , Peter Kastanis and great nephew Noah, great niece Joy and great great niece Bailey of Toronto and great niece Emma of Baie St. Paul.
