Noreen Catherine Allbright, 68, of O'Fallon, IL, born on October 13, 1955, passed and took her beautiful smile, huge heart, distinctive laugh, and love of family and friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Noreen was born in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of Thomas E. and Nancy Rose (Royal) Bushey.
After graduating from Beekmantown Central School, she married her beloved husband of 50 years, Earl D. Allbright, in 1974. After their wedding, Noreen spent the next 40 years in support of various government service assignments with her husband. She spent the first 12 years at Plattsburgh, NY, Tucson, AZ, Rome, NY, and North Bay, NY. Later settling in Plattsburgh for another 10 years, then finally to O'Fallon, IL. Noreen was a trained home health aide and activities manager at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. Later, she worked at O'Fallon Township High School as the lead cook and served in other positions before retiring in 2013. Noreen was a member of the Food Services Worker Union and Employee Union Representative, she was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Air Mobility Commander and Command Civil Engineer for her lifetime contributions to the mission of the US Air Force in 2012, and she was a long-time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in O'Fallon, IL. Noreen thoroughly enjoyed regularly going out to visit and socialize with her many friends, and was often seen playing cards, games, and Bingo with "The Girls." Her passion was to visit with family and friends, and she loved cooking and baking, reading, and crafting as well as attending craft shows and thrift stores. Noreen also loved to travel, regularly going South for the winter and North for the summer.
Noreen was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nancy Bushey; her brother-in-law, Timothy Allbright; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish Noreen's memory are her beloved husband, Earl D. Allbright of O'Fallon, IL; their two children, Lisa A. (John) Duwe of Festus, MO, Darrel Allbright of Staunton, IL; two brothers, Thomas Bushey of Beekmantown, NY, Kevin (Diane) Bushey of West Chazy, NY; two sisters, Melanie (Dwayne) Smart of Sciota, NY, Penny (Robin) Bushey Plattsburgh, NY; two beloved granddaughters, Avery Shermer, Cailin Duwe both of Festus, MO; four aunts, Carol (Ben) Edwards, Sandy Turner of Plattsburgh, NY, Huguette of Albany, NY, Pat of MA; brother-in-law, Brian (Patty) Allbright of Mooresville, NC; numerous loved cousins, nephews, and nieces in Utica, Whitesboro, Clyde, Pennellville, Malone, West Chazy, Boston, and Mooresville.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
A Celebration of Life with friends in O'Fallon, IL will take place at a later date.
