PLATTSBURGH- Pamela J. Hughes, 84, of O'Connell Way, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Lewin's Cove, Newfoundland, Canada on June 5, 1936 the daughter of Norman and Anne (Pike) Hollett. She married Ronald A. Hughes in
Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada, her husband retired from a career in the U.S. Marine Corps. Pamela moved with him to duty stations in Honolulu,, HI, Alexandria, VA, Beaufort, SC, Philadelphia, PA, and Camp Pendleton, CA. Pamela was a homemaker, loving mother to her four children and doting Nannie to her ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, loved to share stories about her beloved father, Norman "Pop" Hollett, his horse, Trigger, and summers spent at their camp at Lanceo, Newfoundland, Canada.
Survivors include, three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Dean Hughes and his wife Patricia of East Greenbush, NY, Norman Clyde Hughes and his wife Elizabeth of Plattsburgh, NY, Chris Noel Hughes and his wife Wendy of Dannemora, NY; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie Ann (Hughes) Whitesell and her husband Shane of Plattsburgh; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Georgina Hollett of Lewin's Cove, Newfoundland, William and Jessie Hollett of Grand Beach, Newfoundland, Paul and Margaret Hollett of Lewin's Cove, Newfoundland, Junior and Marion Hollett of Lewin's Cove, Newfoundland Donald and Vivian Hollett of Lewin's Cove, Newfoundland, Mitchell and Brenda Hollett of Lewin's Cove, Newfounland; a sister Shirley (Hollett) Gerrow of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren, Norman Hughes, Jr, Brooke Hughes, Brandon Hatch, Tyler Hatch, Justin Hughes, Morgan Hughes, Taylor Whitesell, Bradley Whitesell, Abby Hughes, Ethan Hughes; great-granddaughter, Skye Rose Mrozik; many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pamela was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ronald, sisters, Ruby (Hollett) Isaacs, Barbara (Hollett) Armstrong and a brother, George "Ladner" Hollett.
Burial will take place in North Watertown Cemetery, in Watertown, NY.
A celebration of Pamela's life will be held in the spring.
