Obituary

WEST CHAZY – Patricia "Patsy" Bertha Rose (Lenhan) Jensen died peacefully at home of heart disease on April 5, 2025, surrounded by family, while under hospice care.  Patsy was born on April 16, 1939, in Montreal, QC, Canada.   Born to father, Patrick Martin Robert Nelson Lenhan, of Montreal, QC and mother, Margaret (Taylor), of Cowdenbeath, Fife, Scotland.

Patsy's hometown was Rosemont, a suburb of Montreal, Quebec.  While Patsy's father served in the Canadian Army overseas during WWII, her early childhood summers were spent together with her mother and older sister at a camp on Missisquoi Bay on Lake Champlain.  Patsy was fluent in English and French which was almost necessary to succeed in Quebec, the only French-speaking Province in Canada.  As a teenager, during the mid-1950's, Rock and Roll made its debut, and Patsy was one of the lucky Montreal teenagers to have attended the only Elvis Presley Canadian concert that was held in Ottawa.  It was a memory that lasted her lifetime.

Patsy met (Carlo) Marvin Jensen, the love of her life, at the age of 17.  She got engaged at 18, married at 19 and had her first child, Cindy, at the age of 20, followed by daughters, Melanie and Tracey, three and seven years later.

One of Patsy's first significant jobs was at the Royal Bank of Canada as a page girl but was quickly promoted to the typing pool in the foreign banking department where she was highly praised for her excellent work.  This job lasted into the early years of her marriage with a few maternity breaks for her three children.  But due to her husband's work transfer in 1969, her next job took her out of Canada and into the quiet little town of Ukiah, California.  There she quickly obtained an enjoyable receptionist job at the local Masonite Corporation.  Then once again, two years later in 1971, due to her husband's work transfer to Plattsburgh NY, the family settled down in the small town of Chazy NY.  Patsy's next job was seasonal at the Chazy Apple Orchards that lasted until 1977, when she and her husband established their own business of Cimetra LLC, working out of their home.  The name of their electronic assembly and freight forwarding company was an acronym for their daughters, Cindy, Melanie and Tracey.  A few years later, with their business growth, they found it necessary to buy a small warehouse in the Beekmantown area in West Chazy, NY, which quickly expanded two times to accommodate more customers.  The business grew so large that it led to transferring it to an entire warehouse in the Gateway Industrial Park located in northern Plattsburgh.  In 2010, with the encouragement of one of their largest Montreal customers, a second warehouse was established in Antioch, situated near Nashville, TN.  Soon retired, the two businesses were left in the hands of their daughters. Patsy and her husband enjoyed many well-earned ocean cruises, travelling mostly around the Caribbean Islands, as well as Alaska, Hawaii, Greece and Italy.

Patsy loved to entertain family and friends, hosting dozens of parties throughout her married life.  She enjoyed sewing, making a wardrobe of beautiful clothing for herself as well as her daughters.  Patsy also loved to bowl, earning herself many awards and trophies.  She enjoyed garage-sales and going to flea markets.  Patsy delighted in the hobby of crafting and made many gifts for her family.  That hobby later turned into collecting crafts, decorating her kitchen in a farmhouse theme while also enjoying the constant redoing of each bedroom several times over during the decades.

In the late 1950's, before their marriage, Patsy's husband had bought land in the Laurentian Mountains in a small village of La Macaza, about 2-1/2 hours north of Montreal.  The land extended up a mountain on one side and across a river on the other side.  During Patsy's first visit there, she instantly fell in love with the mountain wilderness as well and together, with the help of family and friends, Marvin and Patsy built a temporary cabin as they slowly began building their three-story retirement dream home, one board at a time, one weekend at a time, with a hiatus of two years while living in California, until their debt-free home was finally finished in mid-1970's.  Instead of it being their retirement home, it is used as a summer and vacation home with many wonderful memories for the entire family.

Survivors include, husband, C. Marvin Jensen; daughters, Cindy (Michael) Bruneau, Melanie (Gary) Guay and Tracey Stammers; grandchildren, Sarah Bell, Johnny Bell, Samantha Daniel, Nicole Parker, Patrick Guay, Cory Curry, Kevin Guay and Gianna Curry; 2 great grandchildren, Owen and Molly Bell; 7 nieces and 8 nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Shirley Durand.

Cremation services were held by RW Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St. Plattsburgh, NY. 12901.  As per the wishes of Patsy, there will be no wake, funeral or memorial service.  A private family dedication service will be held at a future date.
