Patricia C. LaPier, 91, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Meadowbrook. She was born in Rantoul, IL on February 7, 1935, the daughter of Herman and Goldie (Moody) Peavler.

Patricia graduated from Rantoul High School. She married Robert E. LaPier and shared 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. Patricia retired from Clinton County Department of Social Services. She enjoyed retirement, her casino trips, playing pinochle, luncheons with her retired coworkers and Sunday road trips. Music and dancing kept her young, as well as being silly and joking with family and friends. Above all else, Patricia loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to planning her annual picnic.

Survivors include her sons, Robert K. (Ellyn) LaPier, David (Clare) LaPier, Timothy (Monica) LaPier and Thomas (Emily) LaPier; daughters, Cynthia (Dennis) O’Neil and Karen Durocher; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-granchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as her closest friend, Linda Mills.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband Robert E. LaPier; son, Patrick LaPier; granddaughter, Sara Beth LaPier; two brothers and five sisters.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30PM at OLV Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude, The Shriners, Animal Welfare Rescue or Elmore SPCA.
