PLATTSBURGH – Paul Don Sansone, 80, of Lynde Street, passed away, July 8, 2022.

He was born in Malone on April 23, 1942, son of Frank and Marion (Lemay) Sansone.

Paul was an Army Veteran who served his country from 1960-1963 and again from 1976-1977.

He worked for several years as a corrections officer in Malone, retiring in 2004, and was member of the Police Benevolent Association and the American Legion.

In his spare time, Paul found great joy in taking various day trips and spending time fishing.  He also enjoyed different kinds of cars and attending many car shows.

Survivors include his wife June (Gilman) Sansone, who he married on June 25, 2005 at St. Peter's Church;  three sons, Allen Sansone, Kevin (Sandra) Sansone, and Michael (Shelby) Sansone;  daughter, Julie (Jeffrey) Brooks;  four grandchildren, Brittany Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Emily Sansone, and Leah Sansone;  two great-grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Frank, Robert, and Janet.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in St. Peter's Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Clinton County Nursing Home or The American Cancer Society.
