CHAZY – Pauline Baker, 91, of River Street, passed away on November 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 21, 1930 in Mooers, NY daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Sharrow) Morrison.

Pauline married the love of her life and soulmate Loyal Baker on July 1, 1948 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.

Pauline was a homemaker/stay at home mom until she decided to work outside of her home at Delagar's in Rouses Point.  After working there, she retired and became a babysitter for many children in the area.  To this day, many still call her "Nana."

Pauline was a member of the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Altar Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church.

Pauline and Loyal were bestowed the wonderful honor of being crowned King and Queen of Chazy Old Homes Day. It was an honor they both cherished and were proud of.

Her family was her pride and joy especially the grandchildren.  Survivors include her two daughters and son-in-law, Diane Thibault of Chazy and Pamela and Jody Manor of Mooers;  five grandchildren, Andrew Thibault (Michelle Powers), Christopher and Renata Montgomery, Dennis and Kelly Montgomery, Aaron and Kelley Manor, and Heather and Chris Cayea;  thirteen grandchildren, Isabella, Joseph, Sofia, Giorgia, Drake, Vincent, Ronan, AJ, Chase, Teegan, Makaylah and Lucas;  one sister, Geraldine Garrand and one sister-in-law Florence Roussia.  Pauline is also survived by a lifelong friend of 75 years, Velma Cameron as well as many nieces and nephews and many extended families that she babysat through the years.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband Loyal Baker;  daughter Donna Montgomery;  two sons-in-law Andy Thibault and Dennis Montgomery;  and brothers and sisters.

A big thank you to Hospice of the North Country for the wonderful care especially Nurse Heather who was our true angel through this difficult time.  Thank you to my daughter for helping me take care of Nana these last weeks along with Stephanie Demers and Kelley Manor for their help.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Ellenburg Depot.  Pauline's family requests that all attendee's to the visitation and funeral service please wear a face covering.
