Pauline
Myers
Mar 5, 1937 — Jun 8, 2026
Plattsburgh
Pauline I. Myers, 89, of Plattsburgh, NY died surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 8, 2026. Born March 5, 1937 to Ernest (Oscar) and Elizabeth (Betty) Chagnon.
Pauline’s career was that of a machine operator; working at several local factories. She used her skill set to assist the Mold Rite owners how to run the machines. Pauline moved on to Georgia Pacific where she retired as a supervisor. She was exceptionally proud of being the only woman on a seven-person team to reutilize an idle machine in order to make production easier on its operators. Pauline was deeply respected by her peers for her knowledge and her camaraderie.
Pauline will be remembered for her strength, her fierce independence, and her need to ALWAYS be there for her loved ones, no matter what! She played acoustic guitar and piano up until she no longer could. She loved classic country music and would dance the night away every time, especially when her favorite band, Bootleg was in town. Pauline loved all animals, especially CJ., her beloved dog of 17 years. Pauline was a local history enthusiast, a love she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Pauline loved living in Plattsburgh with its rich history and always bragged about home. She looked forward to movie dates with her cousin, Carol, but only when a good horror flick was playing.
It’s hard to sum up an entire life of anyone but especially of a person with such a life-force.
Pauline’s death leaves a profound sense of loss for those who loved her. Her beautiful bright blue eyes and magnetic smile will live on each time they smell a lilac or hear a cardinal sing. No longer in pain, she is at peace. Her family takes solace in knowing she is with her daughter, Terry, and her mother and father, who were never far from heart!
She is survived by her two sons: Ricky Chagnon (Debbie), Raymond Myers (Monique) and daughter, Tammy Myers. Pauline’s greatest love were her grandchildren: Jessica Chagnon, Travis Leverentz, Ricky Chagnon II, Shawna Myers, and Kiana Myers. When Pauline could no longer travel, granddaughter Jessica, living in N. Carolina, would call her grandma, several times a day.
She is predeceased by her parents and eldest child, daughter, Terry Chagnon.
