PLATTSBURGH – Pearl G. Sorel, 90, of Bushey Blvd, formerly of South Plattsburgh, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on February 17, 1935 the daughter of Walter and Genevieve (Chamberlain) Cody. Pearl attended a one room school house early on and then Our Lady of Victory School in Plattsburgh.

She married Leo Sorel on February 6, 1954 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.

Pearl enjoyed playing bingo, crafting, and crossword puzzles. During the week you could find her in the afternoon watching her favorite Soap Opera or rooting for the Green Bay Packers during football season. The time she cherished the most was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Kevin (Penny) Sorel; daughters, Mary (Charles) Martin, Cindy (James) Bailey; sister, Florence "Midget" Lecuyer; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew, with a special nephew, Travis St. Germaine.

Pearl was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leo; son, Alan; brothers, James, Frank, Louis; sister Mable; niece, Sandy St. Germaine.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
