Raymond O. Barnaby, Sr., 83 of Rand Hill Road, Altona, passed away on May 23, 2025 at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh on May 24, 1941 the son of Joseph and Mary Elsie (Ebare) Barnaby.

Raymond married Bernadette (King) Barnaby on June 20, 1981. Bernadette passed away on July 5, 2007 after 36 years together. He retired from SUNY Plattsburgh where he was a cleaner. Raymond enjoyed puzzles, tinkering outside, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include children, Deborah "Dee" (Travis) Rodriguez, Amy Renadette(James Mason), William (Missy) Barnaby, Raymond (Elaina) Barnaby, Jr. and Charles Barnaby; grandchildren, Keith and Alyssa Rodriguez, Serena Jalbert, Faith Jalbert, William Barnaby, Michael Barnaby, Dominick Barnaby, Syler Barnaby, Arya "Oreo" Barnaby, and Danika Parent; great-grandchild, Owen Barnaby; sister, Gloria Guimond; sisters-in-law, Jean Barnaby and Sandy (Roy) Pickering; special cousins, Gary (Donna) Barnaby, Timothy (Sharon) Barnaby, and Henry "Peanut" Barnaby; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Bernadette; parents, Joseph and Mary Elsie Barnaby; brothers, Robert Barnaby and Richard (Emily) Barnaby; sisters, Cecile (Bill) Guilbo and Marianne Garrand; sister-in-law, Janet Sleiman.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
