PLATTSBURGH, NY---Raymond "Emery" Boyd, 79, of Rugar Street, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the CVPH Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Plattsburgh on April 10, 1936 the son of Raymond A. and Mary Alice (Tammer) Boyd. Raymond married the former Audrey Gadway on December 18, 1956 on Cumberland Head by the Rev. Ball. Their marriage was again blessed at Our Lady of Victory Church by Rev. Brisson on April 18, 1964. Audrey predeceased him on June 23, 2013. He worked as an operating engineer for various local companies including William Smith, Roger Kennedy, Frank Akey, and Murnane Associates. Raymond was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 106 for over 50 years. Survivors include two sons, Evan Boyd and his wife Lynn and David Boyd and his companion Christine Provost all of Plattsburgh; four daughters, Cathy Boyd and her companion Rick Mangum of Dannemora, Lynn Boyd and her companion Jim Hewson of Plattsburgh, Tina LaFrance and her husband Gregory of Plattsburgh, and Teri Lamb and her husband Eric of Plattsburgh; his loyal caregivers, Nellie and Raymond Boyd; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews. Raymond was predeceased by his parents; an infant son, Kenneth Raymond; one grandson, Ricky Lyman Jr. in 2015; one sister, Margaret Lester; one niece and one nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
