MORRISONVILLE – Richard L. Downey, 79, of Clinton County, Morrisonville, passed away March 2, 2024 with his family present.

He was born December 19, 1944, the son of Raymond and Edith (Garrow) Downey.

Richard loved to go for walks enjoying nature and was an avid Plattsburgh State Cardinal hockey fan and NASCAR fan; especially Danny Hamlin.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Downey and AJ Morrow;  grandson, Zachary Downey;  sisters, Sandra Ashline, Marilyn Roberts, Mary Jane Jarbeau and Barbara Sick;  brother, Ralph Downey;  2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Edith Downey;  wife, Grace (Delp) Downey;  son, Richard L. Downey, Jr;  1 sister and 3 brothers.

There will be a graveside service for immediate family and close friends at their convenience.
