Richard “Ricky” Chellis, 74, of Spruce St. Redford, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on April 20, 1952 the son of Vernon and Geraldine (Myers) Chellis.

Ricky was a US Marine Corp, serving in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal and the Vietnamese Combat Medal. He was a heavy equipment operator in the military and once honorable discharged continued for the City of Aurora Colorado. Ricky Married Laura Akey on January 12, 2018 at the Saranac Town Hall. He Loved to be with family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and taking ride on his motorcycle. In the fall he enjoyed watching football.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; his children, Joanne and Norman Waldron, April Garrow, Ralph Garrow, Ross and Lisa Garrow, Tracey Chellis, Terry Chellis; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Bonnie Chellis.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Church of Assumption in Redford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors.
