Obituary

PLATTSBURGH – Richard J. Sorrell, 56, passed away peacefully on June 4th2018 at Vermont Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on November 4, 1961 the son of Richard and Joyce (Lafountain) Sorrell.

Richard was a graduate of Northern Adirondack Central School. After high school he served in the Army from 1980 to 1982. He was stationed in Germany, where he met his wife, Christine Ziarno of 35 years. They married in Springfield Massachusetts on August 12, 1983.

Rick worked at Bombardier for many years, NRC in Vermont and recently at Nova Bus in Plattsburgh where he enjoyed his time very much.

There will never be enough words to describe this man. He was tough, caring, hardworking, crafty but most of all simple. He was a great cook, loved good food and a good cup of coffee. Rick loved to fish and attend sporting events. He could talk to just about anybody and had many friends. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Rick was a special man and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife, Christine, daughters, Tiffany and Molly son Patrick and grandson Jack. Siblings Deborah Sorrell, Brenda Quesnel and Leroy Sater. And many cousins, uncles and aunts.

Calling hours will be held Friday June 8thfrom 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
