Rita T Fessette, 98, of Dickson Point Rd in Point au Roche passed away at home on April 9, 2025.  She was born on July 5, 1926 in Ingraham, NY the daughter of Wilbur and Aurelia (Pombrio) Trombly.

Rita graduated from Chazy Rural school in 1945.

She married Clarence Fessette on October 19, 1946 at St. Joseph's church in West Chazy.

When she wasn't busy working on their farm, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and reading.

Left to cherish Rita's memory are her sons and daughters-in-law David and Sue, Clarence Jr. (Joe) and Lori, Chris and Brenda, all of Point au Roche, Paul and Rita of Beekmantown, and Luke and Tammy of Peasleeville; sisters-in-law Rose Mary Boire and Joanne Fessette; 14 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1998, their son Mark in 2014, all her siblings: Royal (Mildred), Mary Beulah (Norman, Thomas) Merton (Ruth), Hersey (Eleanor), Doris (Alex) Bechard, Virgil (Helen, Sonya), Alma (Sarto) Giroux, Norma (Bernard) Oliver, and Lyles (Helen).

A special thank-you goes out to granddaughter Stacey for caring for Rita for the past year. Also, thank-you to the Hospice team for their extra help the last couple weeks.  It was so appreciated.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 13, from 2 - 4 at R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 14, at 11 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.  Burial in St. Joseph's cemetery will be on May 5, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
