CADYVILLE – Rita D. Goddeau, 97, of Rabideau Street, passed away on February 2, 2023 at the CVPH Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Cadyville, on March 3, 1925 the daughter of Wallace and Delia (Rabideau) Brault.
Rita graduated from Cadyville High School and attended St. John's Academy and Plattsburgh State University.
She married Philmore Goddeau on May 20, 1946 at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.
Rita was employed in retail for many years at Montgomery Wards and The Big N in Plattsburgh.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughter's.
Rita enjoyed music, singing, reading and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include son, Ronald and Phyllis Goddeau; daughters, Christina and Ronald Packwood, Nancy Clancy, Kathy Chase, Angela Carter and Amy Rascoe; sister, Doris Drollette; grandchildren, Nancy Roberts, Kevin, Steve and Kenny Packwood, Danny, Patrick and Heidi Clancy, Kyle and Tanner Rascoe, Andrea Thomas, Stacy Bobbie, Amie Chase Marshall, Adrian, Adianne, Frankie, Kaddie and Madison Carter; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Philmore Goddeau; brother, Richard Brault; sister, Theresa Sears; grandson, Ronald Packwood; and sons-in-law, Robert Clancy and Adrian Carter.
Rita's family will receive guests starting at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville on Tuesday, February 7 th , followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be at a later date in St. James Cemetery.
