PLATTSBURGH – Robert Barnaby, 76, of Military Turnpike, passed away, February 19, 2022.

He was born in Altona on October 23, 1945, son of Harry and Mary (Abare) Barnaby.

Robert was an adventurous hard working soul that always carried a smile upon his face with any situation he encountered. Some of the things that really sparked his interest was hunting and listening to the stillness around, camping, swimming and just enjoying the breathtaking outdoors. The things that he kept close to his heart was enjoying all the time spent with the dogs within the family- but most of all he loved being with his family!

Survivors include his loving wife, Jean Barnaby;  daughter, Christine Barnaby (Curtis Seymour);  grandchildren, Jeanne Lamora, Victoria (Josh) Cook, Robert Duprey, and Alyzza Barnaby;  and great-grandchildren, Bryson and Preston Cook.

He also leaves behind his children, Norbert Ratajczak (Sherry Hodges), Laura (Mike) Guynup, William Ratajczak (Mary Martin) and Darlene (Leo) Mahony;  siblings, Raymond Barnaby and Gloria Guimond;  grandchildren, Robert, Kala, Cameron, Robert, Shane, Gabrielle, Felix, Zoey, and Andrew;  3 great-grandchildren;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his infant daughter, Karen Barnaby and siblings, Mary Ann Garrand, Dicky Barnaby, and Cecelia Guilbo.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.

Burial will take place in the spring in Holy Angels Cemetery in Altona.

Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
