PLATTSBURGH – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend Robert A. Seymour on May 11, 2024 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, New York.  Robert "Bob" was born on November 22, 1939 in Plattsburgh, New York to Clarence Seymour and Evelyn (Laramie) Seymour.  Bob grew up in West Chazy, New York with his two brothers and one sister whom he often shared some of our fondest stories of their childhood.  In 1963 Bob left the small town where he grew up and started his thirty-six year career as a New York State Corrections Officer.  It was in Ossining, New York, in 1965 that Bob met the love of his life, Barbara Jeanne Lefebvre and on August 7, 1966 they were married.  During their fifty-seven years together, they had two daughters and were blessed with four grandchildren.  Not only were they the "sparkle in his eye" but to them he was the best father and craziest "Grampie" that helped those four grandchildren find more mischief than they could have ever thought of on their own.  Our hearts ache with the emptiness his loss has left, but are filled with the many memories we will all hold close.

Robert had a love/hate relationship with the game of golf, and could oftentimes be found "hitting the links" with either his brothers or one or more of his many friends that were very important in his life.

Robert leaves behind his wife Barbara, who was his best friend, love of his life, and devoted caregiver.  Not a day went by that our father was not loved and cared for with such patience and grace that our mother showed to him during his battle with dementia.  Robert also leaves behind his two daughters Sarah Giovagnoli and husband Mark of Enfield, NH and Jeanne Seymour of Bowling Green, KY.  Four grandchildren, Joshua Patnode of South Burlington, VT; Noah Patnode and his wife Lakysha of South Burlington, VT;  Makenzie Seymour of Bowling Green, KY; and Seth Seymour-Neill of Essex, VT.  One sister, Nancy Racette and her husband Charles of Plattsburgh, New York and several nieces and nephews and very dear friends.

Robert was predeceased by his mother Evelyn, father Clarence, and brothers Rodney Seymour and Dwayne "Fudd" Seymour.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, NY on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Reception to follow.
