MORRISONVILLE – Rodney G. Moody, 73, of Allegheny Rd. Morrisonville, passed away Saturday June 17, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Rodney was born in Saranac Lake on September 11, 1943 the son of Alfred and Rita (Woodruff) Moody.
He was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School. Rodney married Donna McCormick on June 20, 1964 in Saranac Lake. He was an IRC 2 at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora for many years. Rodney was a Board of Commissioner for the Lyon Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Siberian Rod and Gun Club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and watching NASCAR and sports. Rodney loved his time with his family, friends and furry companion, his dog Foxy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed.
Survivors include his wife Donna Moody of Morrisonville; three daughters and sons-in-law Corene and Robert King of Plattsburgh, Melanie Miner of Dannemora, Shari and Chuck Kostyk of Cadyville; a brother and sister-in-law Al and Mary Lou Moody of Saranac Lake; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Vivian Eccleston of Lake Placid, Kathleen Becker of Manorville, Sharon and Rick Barry of Saranac Lake, Dick McCormick of Saranac Lake; grandchildren Brittany Kalvaitis, Kayla King, Courtney King, Jeremy Miner, Shane Miner, Andy Kostyk, Kyle Kostyk, Kaitlyn Wood, Ryan Wood; 4 great-grandchildren, Bentley, Callie, Oliver, Kenzie; several nieces and nephews.
Rodney was predeceased by his parents and a sister Donna.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Plattsburgh.
