Obituary

ALTONA— Roger A. Ely, 71, husband of Linda (Barnaby) Ely of Irona Rd., Altona, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born on October 6, 1948 in Ware Massachusetts, the son of Elmer and Mary Ely. Roger served in the United States Army from August 1968 to June of 1970. After serving his country and being honorably discharged, he went to work at Palmers Foundry Inc. in Palmers Massachusetts, where he worked from the early 1970's until retiring in 1997, when they decided to move to New York. This is when Roger and Linda finally decided to get married. Roger loved hunting, fishing, and collecting replica cars, but most of all Roger loved being a grandfather.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them any chance he got. He leaves behind his wife, Linda (Barnaby) Ely; their three children; his daughter, Corrina Squires and her partner Stacey Peryea, their children, Sadie and Brayden Peryea; their son Shawn and his wife Ashley Kinsey, their children, Jordon, Mason, Chloe, Madalyn, and Camden, their son Ernest Kinsey and his partner Liz and their children, Samantha and Brooke.

Due to Covid-19, all services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
