Roger B. Kennedy Sr., age 84, of Bonita Springs, Florida and Plattsburgh, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Roger was born and raised in Plattsburgh. He was the son of Roger P. and Florence R. Kennedy.

Roger lived an extraordinary life full of adventure, education, travel, and professional success. Following high school at St John's Academy in Plattsburgh, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Norwich University. He entered the United States Army Corps of Engineers and honorably served our Nation. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, Vermont, and Florida.

Roger's successful professional career was a continuation of his family's legacy, as he led two very successful general contracting companies: Roger P. Kennedy General Contractor, Inc. in Plattsburgh, a major force in the construction of Plattsburgh Air Force Base, U.S. Olympic Athlete Housing in Lake Placid, and major complexes for companies like General Motors Corporation, Dow Jones & Company; and Roger B. Kennedy Construction in Orlando, FL, specializing in multi-family, senior and assisted living, hospitality, and commercial projects.

Roger was an early champion of youth hockey in the North Country and instrumental in the growth of travel team hockey with the Plattsburgh Roadrunners. He was an avid golfer and previous co-owner of Bluff Point Golf Course and was a licensed private aircraft pilot. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; all who knew and loved him will certainly miss him.

Roger is survived by his wife Susan Kennedy and his children and grandchildren: Roger B. Kennedy Jr. and wife Leigh (Maggie and Roger) of Longwood, FL; Mary Kate Kennedy DeMane and husband Peter (Erin, Courtney and Claire) of Norfolk, VA; Ann Margaret Kennedy and husband Steve Omli (Artie, Maggie, Mary Kate, and Molly Pringle) of Tampa, FL; Megan Kennedy Dell'Orfano and husband Scott (Caitlin and Ryan) of Jupiter, FL; Sheila Kennedy Parker and husband Randall (Kate) of Laguna Beach, CA;  and stepchildren Megan L. Homan and husband Adam (Sedona) of Tucson, AZ; and Ashleigh Livingston of Plattsburgh.

Along with his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Kennedy.

There are no memorial services planned. The family will celebrate Roger's wonderful life at a later date.
