CHAZY – Roger F. Miller, 85, of State Route 9, passed away on July 13, 2023 at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Mooers Forks on June 18, 1938 the son of Leonard and Leona (Favreau) Miller.

Roger enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963.

He married Lise M. Lavigne on October 6, 2017 at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.

Roger was a lifelong self-employed barber and also worked as an instructor teaching the art of barbering for NYS Department of Corrections in Dannemora.

Survivors include his wife, Lise Lavigne of Chazy; daughter, Lisa (Dale) Menard of Rouses Point; step-children, Peter (Judy) Lavigne of Chazy and Debbie (Steve) Russell of Delaware;  brothers, Lionel (Pat) Miller of Florida, Clarence (Debbie) Miller of Vermont and Leeward and (Monica) Miller of Mooers; sister, Annette (Ray) Hosler of Chazy; grandchildren, Alyssa (Greg) Haase, Miranda Menard (Tommy Fuhrmeister), Ashley Lavigne (Tim Mott), Josh (Paige) Russell, Nicholas Lavigne, Samantha (Ryan) Fessette, Jennifer Lavigne, and Kelsey (Andre) Hebert;  and great-grandchildren, Lorelei Russell and Savannah Hebert.

He was predeceased by his parents;  and siblings, Reginald, Irene, and Homer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.  Family will begin receiving guests at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the North Country Honor Flight.
