Obituary

BEEKMANTOWN – Ronald R. Sickles, 82, of Town Line Road, passed away, Thursday, April 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Rochester, NY on October 1, 1942, the son of Walter and Geraldine (Benjamin) Sickles.

Ronald entered the United States Air Force on February 8, 1962 and was Honorably Discharged on February 7, 1966.  He then went on to marry the former Mary Turner on October 1, 1966 in Morrisonville, NY.

Ronald worked for the Clinton County Highway Department for many years retiring as a construction supervisor.

He loved to be outside and could often be seen doing lawn and garden work, or playing a round of golf.  Ronald also enjoyed doing various carpentry projects and watching Westerns on TV.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Sickles;  two daughters, Eileen Sickles and Jill Marcoux and her husband David;  sister, Shirley Collins;  grandchildren, Samantha Waldbillig and her husband Matthew and Alexander Marcoux;  two great-grandchildren;  and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents and brother Richard Sickles.

The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care given to Ron by Hospice of the North Country, especially his nurses, Jessica, Ashley and Jen, who took wonderful care of Ron in his final days.  They also wish to give special thanks to Father Pierce from St. Alexander's Church for all his assistance and guidance, as well as his son-in-law, David Marcoux and nephews, Bill Turner and his wife Cheryl and Josh Turner and his wife Abigail for all that they did.  Their love and care was appreciated beyond words.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.  Family will receive guests prior to the funeral mass.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or to the North Country Honor Flight.
