Rosemond "Sorelle" Bouyea, née Lowe, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh, NY, where she had recently moved from Victory Place. She was born on September 20, 1938, in Stanislaus, CA, to Violet Cleveland and Charles Basil Lowe.
Sorelle grew up in Modesto, CA, and later moved to San Francisco, where she worked in the flower industry, immersing herself in a world of beauty and color that reflected her own spirit. She held a lifelong love for cooking and gardening and was known as a strong, independent, and private woman.
On May 19, 1990, Sorelle married Vernon Bouyea in Carmel, CA, and in 1998, they relocated to Saranac, NY. Together they built a beautiful home with a garden space where Sorelle nurtured her love of nature and growth. She was an active member of the Dannemora parish at St. Joseph Catholic Church, sharing her faith and community spirit.
Sorelle was predeceased by her parents, Violet and Charles, and her beloved daughter, Denise "Serena" Rovetti. She is survived by her son, Marc Rovetti, his wife, Colleen, and their children, Nicholas and Genevieve, of Orinda, CA. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews from New York to California.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
