PLATTSBURGH – Rudolph J. Bobka, 96, formerly of Dragoon Rd. Altona, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

He was born on July 27, 1928 in Akron OH, the son of George and Susan (Svec) Bobka. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 and was discharged with honors.

Rudolph received his BS from Marietta College and his MS and PhD in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University. He married Marilyn Edeler in 1954 in Cleveland Ohio, who passed in 1999.

Rudolph was a Chemistry Professor, retiring from SUNY Plattsburgh. He was a talented violinist, and enjoyed exploring nature on his property in Altona.

He is survived by his daughter Marlene Bobka and her companion of 36 years Glen Klag, both of Silver Spring MD; two nieces and three nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and brother John J. Bobka.

A graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Mooers will be announced in the spring.
