Obituary

DANNEMORA- Russell (Jim) Raudenbush, age 87, of Dannemora, NY passed away on August 25, 2021 at CVPH Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Sellersville, PA, the son of Russell T and Dorothy (Wagner) Raudenbush who predeceased Jim, as did his sister Janet Raudenbush of Sellersville, PA.

In his youth, Jim played many sports and was active playing drums for the local marching band.  He entered the Air Force in 1955 and loved his job as an Air Traffic Controller at Plattsburgh Air Force Base until a car accident ended his career in 1959.  He began work as a Correction Officer in 1964, retiring from Clinton Correctional Facility in 1996 after 32 years of service.

After his retirement, Jim enjoyed going to Airborne & NHIS with brother in-law Bill, taking trips to the casino, collecting "treasures" from local auctions and garage sales, visiting family and friends in Pennsylvania especially his long-time friends Richard (Lefty) and Rose Crouthamel, and spending time at the pool with his family. He also cherished his 50 th wedding anniversary trip back to Niagara Falls.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn "Babe" (Wrisley) Raudenbush of 57 years, his children Pamela (Mike) Prenoveau, Jim (Pam) Raudenbush, and Christina "Cricket" Raudenbush, his grandchildren Olivia & Michael Prenoveau, Leanne Wallace, and Bethany & Jonathon Raudenbush, his brother Terry (Debra) Raudenbush of Telford, PA and his sister Beverly Raudenbush of Alexandria, VA. Additionally he is survived by brother and sister in-laws including Joan Whipple, Bill & Kathy Baggs, and Russ & Sue Bigelow, many nieces & nephews, as well as good family friend Jamie Favaro.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held privately for the family at RW Walker funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dannemora.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dannemora Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.
