Saundra Diane Winterbottom, 88 of West Chazy, NY, passed away at home on August 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born November 15, 1937, in Plattsburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Julia (LaFountain) Seymour.
Saundra (Sandy) was predeceased by her husband Gordon Winterbottom on January 2, 2021, who she married on February 9, 1957, and her son Gregory Winterbottom, June 4, 2016. Her brothers; Frank and Bernard Seymour and sisters; Gertrude Wood and Viola Ormsby. Brother-in-law; Dale Winterbottom and Sister-in-laws; Donna Cross, Dorothy LaBossiere and Gloria & Lana Winterbottom.
She is survived by her sons, Gordon Jr and partner Bonnie Boyea, Gary (Patty) and Glen (Julie) Winterbottom all West Chazy, NY. Her grandchildren Kenneth (Jennifer) Winterbottom of South Carolina, Christopher (Tara) Winterbottom, Elisa (Timothy)LaFave, Sarah (Eric) Bell and Olivia Winterbottom and her partner Donovan Schiraldi all of Plattsburgh, NY and Jessica Davis & Ginni Bunch of Florida, Shawn Morrison of Oklahoma, and 11 great-grandchildren; Ethan, Alyssa, Zeno, Gunner, Callen, Cassidy, Valon, Elizabeth, Collin, Abby and Gabrielle and 2 great-great-grandchildren; Jade and Eden.
Saundra was also survived by her brother Gerald (Dianna) Seymour and her sister Betty (Dana) Burl of Plattsburgh, Brother-in-laws; Roy Winterbottom of Bradenton Florida, Robert Cross of Mineville, Richard LaBossiere of West Chazy along with her beloved sister-in-law Nancy Seymour of Morrisonville, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband Gordon in 1979 they started a family trucking business; Winterbottom Trucking which is still in operation today. Many employees through the years enjoyed Sandy’s delicious lunches. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and her daily walks and exercise routines. She always welcomed anyone who would stop in to visit, especially her grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her daughter-in-law, Patty Winterbottom, for the years of loving care she provided to Sandy.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
