CHAZY – Stephanie Anne Rovers, 64, passed away on August 17, 2019. She was unexpectedly diagnosed with blood cancer on June 25th and fought hard with a smile on her face until she passed peacefully surrounded by loving family.

Stephanie was born in Plattsburgh on July 16, 1955, the daughter of Royal and Anita (Bedard) Giroux. Stephanie graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1973 and that summer met the love of her life and best friend, Adrian Rovers. They married in 1977 in Chazy; Stephanie worked at Diamond International for the next 10 years, and then decided to devote herself to raising her two children. In 1992, Stephanie and her husband purchased Church Oil Company from her dad, and together they operated the business for over 25 years.

Stephanie had a bright light inside of her that she shined on everyone thru her contagious smile that could light up a room.

Survivors include her loving husband, Adrian Rovers of Chazy; son, Bradley S. Rovers and his wife Becky of Chazy; daughter, Leslie Rovers of Saranac Lake; mother, Anita Giroux of Chazy; siblings, Bryan and Julie Giroux of West Chazy, Stephen Giroux of Plattsburgh, Christine and William Ashley of West Chazy, Cynthia and James Woodward of Camillus, NY, Kathleen Giroux of Plattsburgh, and Eryn Giroux and Steven Stetson of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jack Rovers, Reid Rovers, Loki Vega, and Rowen Vega; five nieces and seven nephews.

Stephanie was predeceased by her father, Royal P. Giroux, and niece, Meagan Rae Giroux.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in Stephanie's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, or Hospice of the North Country.
