PLATTSBURGH – Stephen LeClair, 69, of Algonquin Park Road, passed away at the University of Vermont Medical Center on May 23, 2022.
He was born in Plattsburgh on October 27, 1952, the son of Charles and Helena (Locklin) LeClair.
Stephen married the former Gail Bilow on June 18, 1977 in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.
He joined the Plattsburgh Fire Department in 1975 and retired in 2004 as Assistant Chief.
Stephen enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Of all the places he went, Disney was his all-time favorite, he was always up for a Disney trip. Every morning he enjoyed going for a ride looking for the deer and ducks with his favorite Labrador companion Sunshine. He also attended numerous fishing tournaments with his fishing buddies, Stephen named the team "Oh Baby!". Above all else he enjoyed watching Matt and Beth play hockey and most recently his grandchildren Arianna and Carson playing hockey and soccer. He cherished the time spent with his family and will forever be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Gail LeClair; son, Matthew LeClair and his wife Crystal Bissette-LeClair; daughter, Beth LeClair-Taskin and her husband Sevket Taskin; mother-in-law, Barbara Bilow; brothers, Thomas LeClair and his wife Katherine, and Charles LeClair and his wife Sandy; grandchildren, Arianna LeClair, Austin Marsh, Gracin Marsh, Carson Taskin, Kate Taskin, and Rose Taskin; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 28th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Family will greet guests at the church prior to mass.
Burial will follow in Divine Mercy Cemetery on Cumberland Head.
