MORRISONVILLE-Steven T. Rivers, 67, of Ros-Bo Lane, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Essex Center in Elizabethtown, NY. He was born in Albany, NY on February 5, 1948, the son of Royce C. and Dorothy J. Rivers. Steven graduated from Colonie Central School and later attended Plattsburgh State University. He continued his education and went on to receive his Master's Degree. Steven married the former Sheila Haverstock on July 11, 1970 in Massena, NY. He taught in the Plattsburgh City School District for many years and was also a loan officer at the Plattsburgh Federal Credit Union. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed golfing, cooking, and cross country and downhill skiing. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Sheila Rivers of Morrisonville; one son, Scott Rivers and his wife Hilary of Milton, VT; one daughter, Erin Charron and her husband David of Medford, MA; one brother, Bob Rivers and his wife Penny of Rochester, NY; one sister, Sandra Burns and her husband John of Cicero, NY; four grandchildren, Carter Charron, Mason Charron, Lyla Rivers, and Kate Nelson; and four nieces and eight nephews. Steven was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Jeffrey Rivers. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.
