PLATTSBURGH – Susan Provost, 69, of Wall Street, passed away March 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 29, 1954, daughter of Ed Mackey and Shirley Clukey.

Susan was well known as cook at many places throughout Plattsburgh, including, Tijuana Jail, Campus Corner, and the Ground Round.  In her later years, Susan worked as a cashier at Walmart.

She was a lover of animals, including her dogs Sadie and Chase whom she loved dearly.  Susan enjoyed going to watch her daughter play softball and was her No. 1 fan.  She also loved Monday mornings, when she would be picked up by her son Shawn and they would go to breakfast at many places throughout the North Country.

Susan loved to visit her daughter at her house and also loved all of her cats.  She lived with her daughter on and off over the last year and stayed with her full time when she was assisted with Hospice on September 9th.  She was a lifelong bingo player, and when she couldn't get out to go to bingo anymore, they brought bingo to her.  The family started a Thursday bingo night with friends and family at her daughter's house.

Survivors include her companion, Scott Thompson;  son, Shawn Provost and his fiancé, Holly Slate;  daughter, Carol Carl and her husband Nelson;  brother, James Mackey;  sister, Alyce Provost;  and grandchildren, Tyler Calkins, Joshua Calkins, Gavin Calkins, Madison Provost, and Logan Provost.

Susan was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Provost, Jr.;  son, Raymond Provost;  brothers, Rusty Daniels and Edwin Mackey;  and sister, Grace Mackey.

At Susan's request, there will be no public services.
