Taunyia Holland, an avid reader, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 29th, 2026 at the age of 53. She passed surrounded by her books in the comfort of her bed.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY, on April 13th, 1973, Taunyia was the daughter of her late dad Herbert Agnew and her surviving mother Dianne Agnew.

Taunyia graduated from the Saranac Central School system. She was a proud member of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) for nearly over a decade. She spent most of her time reading and donating books. There was hardly a time where she was without a book in her hands. Her quest for knowledge never seemed to end. Her favorite genre was Historical Fiction but she read all kinds of genres. Above all else, Taunyia loved her family, especially her children. She would have done anything for anyone that needed her help. She was a compassionate mother and aunt, a devoted daughter and a supportive friend to those that knew her.

Those left behind to remember her fondly are her estranged husband of 34 years, Patrick Holland; her son, Stratton Holland; her daughter, Clara Holland; one brother, Herbert W. Agnew II and his wife Annemarie; two nephews, Quinn Agnew and Kellan Agnew; her mother Dianne Agnew; her aunt Mary Reyell and her beloved cats Snowbite and Peakaboo.
