PLATTSBURGH----- Theresa M. Parent, 85, of Elizabeth St., passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Altona on May 2, 1929 the daughter of Edward and Sadie (Euber) Lucia. Theresa married her husband Donald J. Parent on May 10, 1947 in Plattsburgh. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church, and a member of the Senior Citizens. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, garage sales, bowling, playing cards and board games. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Donald J. Parent, a son, Donald E. Parent, a brother Roger Lucia and his wife Pauline, a mother-in-law, Lillian Parent and her husband Frank, a son-in-law James Messenger. Survivors include her children, Tom and Amy Parent of Plattsburgh, Donna Messenger of Tampa, FL, Bonnie Maher of Saranac Lake; siblings, Clarence and Joan Lucia of Altona, Mildred and Homer Burdo of Plattsburgh, Hildred King of Dannemora, Shirley and Loyal McDonald of Moores Forks, Doris Nephew of West Chazy, Barbara Miller of Altona; grandchildren, Bryan and Tabitha Massenger, Ben and Nedra Messenger, Matthew and Lisa Stearns, Glenn Stearns, Jessica and Alex McAllister, Chasity and Don Schwartz, Sarah and Jerod Murphy, Kasie Parent, Aubrey Parent, Bailey Parent, Melody Parent; 14 Great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews Calling Hours will be held Tuesday June 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Church in Plattsburgh. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens, Plattsburgh. Donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Church, in memory of Theresa.
