PLATTSBURGH – Thomas Beaudette, 88, of New Hampshire Road, passed away, Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
He was born in Burlington, VT on November 17, 1932 the son of Wilfred and Marion (LaVigne) Beaudette.
Thomas graduated from Winooski High School.
He married Laurette Dubuque on June 2, 1956 at St. Joseph's Church in Burlington, VT. Laurette passed away March 2, 2019.
Thomas joined the Vermont National Guard in 1948 and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1953 retiring as Sergeant Major in 1977. During this time he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and received the Purple Heart and Metal of Gallantry.
Thomas then went to work for the United States Postal Service in New Haven, CT and retired after 14 years of dedicated service.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Honor Flight in 2018.
Aside from his family Thomas's greatest devotion was the military. He frequently pointed out that it taught him the value of discipline, teamwork and loyalty, which he lived by every day.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Katherine) Beaudette and Jeffrey Beaudette; a daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) Collins; sisters, Nancy Lanoue and Sally (Ronald) Swanson; grandchildren, Christopher (Heather) Beaudette, Stephen (Amanda) Beaudette, Jr., Jennifer (Ira) Frimere and Jaclyn Collins; great-grandchildren, Alexander (Rachel Sheldrick) Beaudette, Emily Beaudette, Julianna Beaudette, Lucas Beaudette, Ty Frimere, Benjamin Frimere and Kelly Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Laurette and son, Thomas Beaudette, Jr.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
