Thomas Lapoint's Obituary
CHAZY LAKE – Thomas Howard Lapoint, 72, passed away December 1, 2018 at the CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Merrill, NY on May 2, 1946 the youngest son of Howard and Bernice (Laflesh) Lapoint.
Thomas worked at Arpak Plastics, and later for NYSEG until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards and going to bingo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy (King) Lapoint of 53 years, children, John Lapoint and his wife, Penni, Beverly Gates and Stephanie Wells and her husband, Nicholas; grandchildren, Shelby Gates, Kelci Gates and Alexis Wells; sisters, Jeannette Dubrey, Sally Kline and her companion, Bob Lacey, Genevieve Mailloux and her husband, John and Diane Shutts and her husband, Bruce; sisters-in-law, Jackie Lapoint, Judy (Humiston) Lapoint, Judy (Vincent) Lapoint, Betty Charland and Shirley King and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Albert, Howard Jr., George, Francis, William and Phillip Lapoint; sisters, Barb Collins and Mary Rita Cayea; brothers-in-law, Benny King, Jack King, John Cayea, Tom Kline and Donald Collins.
Visitation will be held on December 6, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.
Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot.
