SARANAC – Vernon L. Bouyea, 83, of Nashville Road, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Plattsburgh on May 24, 1938 the son of Lawrence and Adele (LaRocque) Bouyea.

Vernon married Sorelle Lowe on May 19, 1990 in Carmel, CA.

He was employed as a manager for Lucky Stores in Burlingame, CA until his retirement.

Vernon was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Dannemora.

He enjoyed gardening, camping and spending time on his computer.

Survivors include his wife, Sorelle Bouyea of Saranac; and her son, Marc Rovetti and his wife, Colleen of Orinda, CA;  numerous nieces and nephews from New York to California.

He was predeceased by his parents; siblings Roger (Lorainne) Bouyea, Marion (Edward) Miller, Bernard (Jean) Bouyea, Anne (William) Niles and Carl (Eleanor) Bouyea.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m.  at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh.
