PLATTSBURGH – Dr. Victor E. Castine, Jr., 71, formerly of Cliff Haven, passed away March 14, 2024.

He was born on April 26, 1952, son of Victor and Jacqueline (Guyette) Castine, Sr.

Dr. Castine married his lifelong companion and best friend, the former Carol Beggs, on November 7, 1981 in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.

He was a practicing physician for over 27 years, working at CVPH Medical Center, various nursing homes in the area, and primarily at CJM Medical which was his pride and joy and was lovingly named after his three children.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Castine;  children, Christopher Vic Castine and his companion, Judy White, Jonathan Gerald Castine and his husband Matthew, and Mary Jacqueline Castine and her companion, James Kopanic;  mother-in-law, Janice Beggs;  siblings, James Thomas Castine and his wife Diana, Shirley Ann Beggs, Rose Mary Deso, and Jacqueline Sandra Menard and her husband Robert;  goddaughter, Amy Jacqueline Castine;  and numerous grandpuppies, nieces, nephews, colleagues, family and friends.  Dr. Castine also leaves behind his loving puppies who were the light of his life, LillyLu, Margie, Gracie, and Fido.

He was predeceased by his parents;  and his father-in-law, Gerald Beggs.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Church.

Burial will follow in Ingraham Cemetery.
