February 21, 1926 – December 18, 2020
PLATTSBURGH- Wayne A. Parrotte, 94, of Wallace Hill Rd, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 18, 2020 at his home with his family.
He was born in Chazy on February 21, 1926 the son of Clifford and Mary (Wilford) Parrotte Sr.
After graduating from Chazy Central School, Wayne enlisted in the US Navy, serving in USN in WWII on the USS Daytona, the first cruiser to bomb Japan. After returning home Wayne went to work at Wyeth Ayerst for 41years, retiring as an Assistant Production Forman, March 1, 1988. He married Janet Stacey at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh on February 9, 1948. Wayne was a member of the Rouses Point American Legion and the Twin Bridges VFW.
Wayne loved to fish, especially ice fishing. He loved to plant and work in his vegetable garden in the summer.
Survivors include, his daughter Anita Debbie of St. John's Florida; two sons, Timothy Parrotte of Plattsburgh, Paul Parrotte and his wife Julie of Aiken SC; six grandchildren Shawn Parrotte, Jarrod Parrotte, Stephaine Pandal, Meghan Debbie, Elizabeth Parrotte, Emma Guerin; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Debbie, Andrew Davis and Macy Davis; two daughters-in-law, Riza Parrotte, Tonya Parrotte; a son-in-law Robert Debbie; several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 70 years, Janet; sons Wayne Parrotte Jr, Gregory Parrotte; four brothers, Clifford Parrotte, Kenneth Parrotte, Melford Parrotte and Ralph Parrotte; four sisters, Pauline Parrotte, Ranah Lyons, Harriet Roberts, Ann Carpentier.
Due do Covid-19 private services will be held Tuesday at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Public services will be announced later in the spring.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date in the spring.
