Obituary

William W. Rooke - 2026

It is with much sorrow that the family of William (Bill) Rooke announces his passing.

Mr. Rooke taught music for over 35 years in the Plattsburgh, Dannemora, and Saranac school districts. He was dedicated to supporting involvement and engagement of local students, whether that meant driving the band bus, coordinating NY State School Music Association events, or fixing the basketball clock.

Outside school, Bill's love of model railroading was well known. He also served as a local choir director and French Horn player. His hobbies included building his first computer, scale-model dollhouses, and a full curved pedalboard organ; as well as fixing numerous hair dryers, vacuums, and model railroad engines for friends and family.

Most of all, he will be missed in his roles as husband, father, and uncle.

A graveside service will be held for family in Schuylerville, N.Y. at a later date.

Those wishing to share a photo, story, or condolence with the family are invited to visit www.rwwalkerfh.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted to R.W. Walker Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.
