PLATTSBURGH – Winifred "Winnie" Pearsall, 90, formerly of Plattsburgh, passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 2, 2024.
She was born on April 22, 1933, daughter of Henry and Mildred (Desroches) Drake.
Winnie graduated from D'Youville Academy in 1951 and went on to work at Fishmen's. She was also employed by NY Telephone and the Press Republican. In 1980, Winnie became the office manager at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home and retired in 2008 after 28 years of dedicated service.
She attended St. Peter's church and volunteered for within the catholic community of St. Peter's and St. Alexander's for over 40 years. Winnie was also an avid volunteer at CVPH as well as the Office of the Aging.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Pearsall and wife, Kari, Christopher Pearsall, and Patrick Pearsall and partner Diana Thut; sister, Mary Jock; brother-in-law, Warren Davignon; grandchildren, Mary Pearsall, Hannah Pearsall, Dylan (Abriana) Boissey, and Noah (Briana) Pearsall; and several nieces and nephews. Winnie was also looking forward to meeting her first great-grandchild who is on the way.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Bernadette (Conan) Mooney; sister, Kathleen Davignon; brother, Walter (Dorothy) Drake; step-sister, Jean Forkey; step-brother, Timothy Fayette; niece, Nicole Davignon; and her partner of many years, Wallace Russell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church.
Burial will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery.
