CADYVILLE – Janet E. Rivers, 90, of Route 3, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Keeseville, NY on December 15, 1926, the daughter of George and Merilda (LaMountain) LaBounty.

Janet married Joseph Rivers on October 27, 1947 at St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville.

She worked as a dishwasher for many years at Herbert's Restaurant in Keeseville but above all else, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Brandy Rivers of Cadyville and Erika Rivers of Maryland; 3 grandchildren, Katelyn Imhoff and her husband David, Darlene Rivers, and Doreen Rieger; 6 great-grandchildren, including Lily Imhoff; and several nieces and nephews.

Janet was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1999; one son, Brian Rivers in 2009; one son, Beryl Rivers in 2010; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Christina and Floyd Monty and Elma and Lee Pierce.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Entombment will take place at a later date at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Plattsburgh.
