Obituary

ALTONA--- Ruth Ann Brunelle, 71, of Rand Hill Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the CVPH Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and dear friend. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on January 14, 1945, the daughter of Arthur Lashway and Gladys Ebare.

Ruth worked as the parish secretary for St. Joseph's Church in Plattsburgh, then at Holy Angels Church in Altona and St. Louis of France in Sciota for over 30 years.

Survivors include her children, Randy Brunelle and his companion, Katherine Smith of Malone; Ricky Brunelle and his wife Melody of Ellenburg, Raeanne McLaughlin and her husband Scott of Morrisonville, and two brothers, Randolph Lashway and his husband Dave Bourroughs of CA and Ralph Lashway and his wife Sandy of FL; two sisters-in-law, Joan Brunelle and Margaret Relick and her husband Phil; three grandchildren, Maegan Brunelle, Jared Brunelle, and Sierra McLaughlin; and nephews, Ralph, Jeff and Kevin, Doug and Rodney.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Austin "Max" Brunelle on July 17, 2009.

Ruth loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved gardening and spent endless hours tending to her flower gardens during the summer. Ruth adored her cat Pepper and her dog Rambo, who passed away. She enjoyed being very active with her church even after she retired.

Ruth's friends were family to her and her home was a home to everyone. Friends knew that they would always be welcome at anytime without an invitation, and could stop by for any reason.

Ruth's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lenore and Bill Guerin, Gail and Jim LePage, Fr. Gilbert Boisvert, and Adah Plumadore for always being there for Ruth for so many years. You were the best friends anyone could ask for. She loved you all to the moon and back.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Angels Church in Altona. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A BBQ reception will follow at Ruth Ann's home in Altona.
